Bud-printing
Ruth Bancroft Garden Tumblr | Bud-printing is the term used for the impressions...: Bud-printing is the term used for the impressions made by one leaf against another in Agave plants, forming when the leaves are pressed tightly together in the cone at the center of the rosette, before they unfurl. Some species, and some special individual plants, show this character especially strongly, as with this Agave parrasana. The effect is particularly strong in early morning, when the dew on the leaves and the low angle of the sun make it very visible.
